Leopards are among the most culturally rich and linguistically advanced kids in Salt Lake City. We speak more than 30 languages and come together from just as many countries. East builds qualified students out of raw potential, attracting the most ambitious in the valley: from immigrants, to refugees, to the city’s most established Utah families. And we have done this for generations, since 1913.   

While other schools chase test scores, we’re building something more transformative: a force of globally competent, culturally intelligent, strategically sharp graduates who can work with anyone, anywhere.  

Our founding principle: every kid deserves academic rigor, not remedial expectations. We introduce ALL students to AP-level strategic thinking and writing. This exposure advances the skills of all classroom participants because it means we teach smarter and more effectively.  

At East High you do not have to choose between rigor and culture. We have both.
